I've decided it was time to get back in blogging so I could chronicle this exciting process. I can't wait to share our selections for the kitchen, bathrooms, and all the other little details in the next few months. After that, I'll be getting into some decorating and DIY projects.
I guess you could consider this a semi-custom home. There are a ton of items we get to select and customize, but there are also quite a few that we cannot change until after we are living in the house.
So far we have made all of our upgrade selections as far as the level of materials we are going to use and at the end of the month we will be choosing the exact colors and finishes. We went all out and chose just about every upgrade possible - gourmet kitchen with granite and stainless steel appliances, a 1/2 bathroom on the main floor, a jetted soaking tub in the master bathroom and a whole bunch more.
We are scheduled to break ground in August and move in December. Thanks for coming along for the ride!

Found you through Met Monday. I'm so excited for you! I've been in my home for 8 years now, but haven't been able to do anything cosmetic to it yet. I hope that will all change soon!

ReplyDeleteIt might be a bit too late, but I still want to congratulate you! How is the new house coming along? I think I saw you post something about your mortgage getting approved. I’m glad that you’re on the right track. I just want to remind you to take this one step at a time. Getting your finances is the first (and the largest) of your concerns.
