Topping Out

Back when I was working in commercial construction, Topping Out (when all the concrete was poured and the full height of the building had been reached) was cause for celebration - parties and food and t-shirts!  lol.

So let's celebrate the "topping out" of our building :)

There were a few workers finishing up the roof, see them up there?

It makes me so giddy to see my living room, bedroom, and closet, and if I peer all the way through, I can see the garage and the second bedroom :)

And how awesome are these full building shots?!

Hopefully in a few weeks I'll be able to step inside and get some interior shots :)

It only took a week

It only took a week to go from this... 

...to this!

 
 We finally have four walls!  I'm so excited to be at this point, but it is looking like we won't be moving until January now.

I updated my phone to iOS 6 which includes panorama mode on the camera, check it out:

I also have more news on the job front - my real estate license came in and now I am all ready to start selling houses :)

Walls... Kinda?

I took a drive out to the new house today.  They started the framing and there were lots of walls and staircases going on.  Unfortunately, none of them are in my house :(

Yup, mine is the empty one.  Kind of a bummer that all I have so far is a concrete slab and party walls.  But since no one can close until the whole building is complete, any progress is good.

Ooh, look - there are some materials!!  Hopefully it won't be long until there are some more exciting photos to share.  When I started blogging, I thought I would have an endless amount of house things to share but the reality is that it has been pretty uneventful.  I just hope the next 3-4 months fly by and we are in our new house before we know it.

In other news, I'm almost a Real Estate Agent.  I passed the state exam on Monday night and this afternoon I affiliated with a large firm in my new area.  My license application will be submitted on Monday and in a few weeks I'll be ready to go :)

A Little Bit of Concrete

Real Estate School was tough!  It was an all-consuming two weeks, but I made it through!  Now I just have to take the state test to get my license.

I'm thrilled to let you know that we finally started construction.  Our project manager called on the 24th to say that they had started the day before.  We were in the area the next day and I was able to get a picture:

Ronnie drove by on Thursday and said that there were concrete columns.  Next week they will be pouring the slab and then they will start framing.  I'm gonna try and get out there later this week or early next week.  I can't wait to watch this house go up and share all the progress with you!!
